Welcome to the New Pediatrics Now web 2.0 home…the official merger of the original www.pediatricsnow.com and www.drgwennisin.com blog into one, new website, blog, webblog (they all mean the same thing these days!) – in one place and with one URL. In fact, you can use which ever URL you want to, www.pediatricsnow.com and www.drgwennisin.com will both get you to the same place.
I’ve always tried to keep pace with technology, if not ahead of it when possible. I launched a the original PediatricsNow website in 2005 when it was possible to do so. That was a very web 1.0 website complete with a ton of HTML code that required a virtual team to manage. In 2006 when blogs came online in an easy way, I followed that path and Dr. Gwenn Is In was born.
Today, the walls between websites and blogs have crashed down. They not only look the same but function the same – and are even developed on the same platforms. Gone are the days those of us without computer degrees need a tech team to manage our sites. Simplicity is the name of the game.
So, to simplify my life, and yours, it was time to return to my original roots – one site, one voice, one mission:
To provide practical health information for today’s busy families.
At the same time, my dogma for Dr. Gwenn Is In, will still very much be part of this new Pediatrics Now because it is still who I am and what the world is about:
One Pediatrician-Mom’s 2cents on child health, parenting, pop culture and everything in between!
When I launched www.pediatricsnow.com in 2005, I told you my goal was to give you information you can read while drinking a cup of coffee so you could talk to your pediatrician more effectively and go about your lives without wasting too much time online. I hope the new Pediatrics Now will accomplish these goals for you, especially the latter goal. You have many online choices these days and I’m glad you stopped by and have opted to spend some time with me each day. But, the world is still offline and that’s the space we all need to be with our families for the majority of each day.
