“At work,
you think of the children you have left
at home. At home, you think of the work
you've left unfinished. Such a struggle
is unleashed within yourself. Your heart
is rent.”
- Golda Meir
If you think about it, a basic day is like
a sandwich: our family is the bread at the
start and end of each day and the filler
is a mix of carpools, work, events, and
errands. When a sandwich overflows, we take
out some of the middle. Perhaps that’s
not a bad model for what to do when our
family sandwich seems unwieldy.
