Happy Holidays!
The craziest holiday month is upon us but that doesn't mean you can't have fun and stay healthy at the same time! The key to success this month is moderation and remembering that eating always needs to be balanced with movement. This is truly the holiday calm before the storm! Thanksgiving is around the corner and before you know it the crazy month of winter holidays. The best aspect of Thanksgiving for me is the family focus - just a day to hang, mingle and eat without any present pressure or obligations. Ok, there may be a few football games to juggle but that comes with the territory and is what makes the holiday so fun! Happy almost halloween! I'm sure your kids have already picked out their costumes and are gearing up for next week's festivities. Trick or Treating does offer a great deal of fun and creativity so if you are having trouble with the "treat" part of the event, stay focused on that. But, treats now and again are not bad - and learning to encorporate treats into a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle is helpful to our kids and healthy overall. [Read more October PediaNewz]

Wow! Where did the summer go! Harry Potter mania is upon us and back to school beckons...well, is at least close at hand. But, it isn't here yet! There is still a great deal of summer fun to be had. Wow! The final week(s) of school. What a crazy time of year with more events per day then our calendars can accomodate combined with quite the roller coaster of emotions. Spring has sprung - finally. And, so has spring youth sports season. If only youth sports today were as rejuvenating as spring itself but so much of it needs fixing.
